“This place is first class - don't bother looking elsewhere” Just had three nights in BYD lofts and will definitely return. All of the rave reviews on TripAdvisor are justified by the quality of this establishment. Check in was prompt and the "WOW" factor is evident as soon as you enter your room. I stayed in a one bedroom apartment (S402) in the annex opposite the main building. The cleanliness of the apartment and the quality of the fitout is first class, and the owners and their staff can be justifiably proud Two large flat screen TV's, a quality bed with quality linen, bathroom fittings that you'd expect in a five star hotel, a magnificently appointed kitchen... the list is endless. In room wifi was secure and fast. Some reviewers comment on the distance to Jungceylon / Bangla, but my experience is that it is an enoyable 15 minute walk. if you don't want to walk to Jungceylon / Bangla, then BYD makes their hotel cars (two late model Mercedes) available for the trip at THB 200 (AUD $7) which is the same price as getting a Tuk Tuk. The walk to the beach is 5 minutes Ate at the in house restaurant on two out of three nights (the advertised special - three courses THB 599 (AUD $22)) and was not disappointed. Although a little more expensive than some "street" ; restaurants, the ambience of the BYD restaurant and the quality of the food makes up for the price difference. The set breakfast (THB 299 - AUD $11) is substantial and represents excellent value BYD is set in a quite area approximately 80 metres from Rat - U - Thit Rd. There are no noisy clubs / bars nearby, so sleep is not interrupted Just next to the annex building is a laundry / travel agency that offers washing services at THB 50 (AUD $1.60) per kilo. I had a number of loads of washing done here and the clothes were ready in less than 12 hours and were returned in perfect condition Every once in a while you come across a quality establishment such as this. Any future stays on Phuket will be here |
